Title: Want to sell some of your fleece?
Post by: Fleecewife on November 09, 2015, 04:29:57 pm
This is in the Natural Fibre Co latest newsletter.  I thought it might be interesting to some.  I don't think they pay much, but more than the Wool Board:

<<<We have started making a list of the wools that we plan to buy for Blacker Yarns and to add to your batches in 2016.  If you have any of the breeds listed below and are interested in selling your wool to us after your next shearing then please get in touch.  Although our prices will exceed those of the Wool Marketing Board, please remember that we are only interested in the best quality fibre, this is usually from shearlings or wethers.  To encourage long term relationships with people producing the type and quality we need, from 2016 we will also pay carriage cost for shipments we organise, and will no longer re-charge this to the supplier.

Here is our current shopping list:
- Blue-faced Leicester (white and coloured)
- Castlemilk Moorit
- Gotland (all colours, especially dark, all must be fine)
- Masham
- Shetland (white, black and brown)
- Teeswater
- Wensleydale

If you have any other breed you think may interest us, then please get in touch.>>>

[email protected]   (they've spelt 'enquiries' wrongly on the newsletter so link might not work)

Thank you for posting this.  I have just sold my Gotland fleeces, and traded some for some hay bales with a lady as well.  But I will keep this info for next year.
