hi there ive seen a few post from people who sell these
sorry if there is already a post
just trying to do some reasearch and any replies i get will go into spreadsheet so i can get some averages
so what i am askins is:
for arguments sake its 10kg box
what area are you?
what lamb do you have?
what cuts of meat do you put in the box (joints/steak/burgers etc)
what price do you look to acheive per box
butcher/slaughter costs?
if i get some reults in i will post the spreadsheet back up for all to see
if you dont feel comfortable in posting anything thats not a problem

hey intresting post ive been trying to push somtning like this locally but hard is an understatement
i do half lamb box or whole some times ill do a 1/4 box
oxfordshire here
i have a mixture of sheep aberdales ( Texle cross ) crossed back over with a tex or suflock going to cross this time with Oxford downs
cuts i keep it simple different with my pigs
basically everything off half a lamb butcherd down i do some chops leg and shoulder and everything else ill split the liver and through in the kidney if they want the hart then in it goes
i would like to get £50- £60 a half however maket prices dont help at the moment i have got £80 a half in the past
butchering and slaugher chargees allow about £40 per head inc charges
hope thats some help ill answer the pigg one for you as well in a min

I've just bought a half lamb box here in Jersey. I can't help with butchering costs but I can tell you what they offered for the money :)
I had 2 options. Both are texel or texel cross sheep and are grass fed (I do not know if any extra feed was used)
A) £9.50/kg
2 x Half legs of lamb
1x Whole shoulder on the bone
1 x Rack (french trim)
Chump chops
Loin chops
B) £90 (approx. 8-10kg).
1x whole shoulder,
2x 1/2 legs,
loin chops,
double cutlets,
leg steaks or diced lamb,
1x shoulder fillet,
boned and rolled breast,
neck for stewing and
bones to make stock
This one also specified that its 10 day dry aged lamb
Neither offer the offal with it but I presume you could ask for it if you wanted it?
