Title: feeding muscovies

what do people feed there adult muscovies

ive heard people mention they finish on wheat
having spoke to a local farmer he says a normal chicken layers pellet will be good enough
also any one feed them waterfowl pellets

mine get duck/goose breeder pellets-they aren't for eating though. Waterfowl have a higher need for niacin than hens and while they might get that through foraging in the summer, I prefer to give them a specific diet. I also had ducklings that got splay leg from normal chick crumb (which righted itself with brewer's yeast and then duck grower pellets) so would only use duck starter too from now on. I also give everyone some micronised flakes (barley, maize and peas) in the winter daily and they do well on it.

 Have some fancy feed waterfowl pellets, will stick to that for now
