I think we've agreed it's at the Guardbridge Hotel, http://www.guardbridgehotel.co.uk/ , for lunch.  James and Kenny serve lunch from 12 noon to 1.45pm.  I think we need to let them know how many will be eating.  Let hope for a nice day so we can eat outside on the picnic benches, there's a lovely view of the old bridge and the river from there.
I had this on Monday - delish - Fresh Pittenweem Haddock fried in Beer Batter, Fries and Salad  My mouth is watering just looking at teh menu suggestions on here http://www.guardbridgehotel.co.uk/food___drink.html

PM me as soon as you know you are definitely going to be there.  I'll keep tabs on the numbers for James.

We'd love to meet her too.  I've had a couple more confirmed so we are at 6 I think now.

I might be able to- would have to ask for the day or afternoon off work though. If you were meeting for say 1pm, I could take off the half day and be there by 1 easily.

OK - meet from 12.30 intending to eat around 1pm - is that OK, James?  Looks like about 8 so far.  If it's fine, eating outdside on the picnic benches overlooking the river Eden would be lovely!
Title: Re: Meeting up
Post by: jameslindsay on April 28, 2010, 06:44:31 am
That's fine but if you wanted to eat on the tables alongside the river you would have to share your food with all the animals and trust me Freddy and Gizmo would be up on the tables, if not your knee. If it is a nice day you can sit out front, there are fewer midges and less pests. :)
Title: Re: Meeting up
Post by: sandy on April 28, 2010, 09:34:25 am
Well I am a messy eater so sitting outside is far less embarrassing as the animals clear up after  :-[

No, I meant at  the front, James.  I know you don't use the Beer garden now.

Thank you very much for the offer Annie thats very kind of you,  ;D however can we take a rain check on that for later in the year cos we have so much work to do on our new place.  :(

Ohh I get to see your lovely dogs too. Bonus!  ;D
Title: They're not so nice dogs, Jackie
Post by: doganjo on April 29, 2010, 10:32:27 am
Not so lovely, Jackie, I got blase about being able to leave the ducks in their run when the dogs were out at the front rather than shutting them in their big dog cage.  Allez decided he would jump the four foot fence and retrieved not one but two of them - at the same time. ::)  He brought them to me - or rather dragged them - only a few feet, but the underneath one got her leg and neck trapped so isn't feeling very well this morning.  I took her out and showed her food and water but she just wants to sit and pant and feel sorry for herself, so I have put her back in the shed on her straw with a bowl of water beside her and a handful of food.

Title: Re: Meeting up
Post by: HappyHippy on May 10, 2010, 10:15:38 pm
On a similar note to Linz - I have an almost full bag of chick crumbs that I no longer need (non GM, but can't remeber the brand off hand) if they're of any use to anyone coming to the meet just let me know and I'll bring them - hate the thought of chucking them and it'll be a while before I'm brave enough to have a go at hatching any eggs ;)

Linz, long time no see  :D
My girls would love the panini makler, but what can I give you in exchange?? Will Robin ever need a dolls house? Picture books? :&>

I thought I better let you know that if you are coming up it might be worth visiting Black's Farm and feed in Collessie before you go home. GM free pellets are £ 7.50 and Aubiose bedding only £ 9 (RRP £12).  :&>

Kerstin I buy some of my animal feed from Crop Services in Pitscottie and quite often they have a poster up advertising Cockerel Free to a good home, may be worth a try? I never see the same poster 2 weeks in a row so perhaps it works.

Ann I'll go up in my car and i can follow you and you can get the bird feed etc? and put it in my car, Then i can put Robin's stuff in the car and not worry about filling your car up.

Won't bother with chicken food - not worth it - Mine is normally £7.95 but David takes something off it as a CSSA member so cheaper than that.

I understand! being on a diet is difficult!! I hate it and still would love to tuck into sarnies, crisps, sweeties and chocks but I don't, I do buy sports mix as sweets on occasions, they stop me from straying!!! I ove my food and if I can loose 2 stone then anyone can. Its all in the genes, I love food and I wish I was more fussy as i would not have an issue with food!!!!

But I don't eat them anyway.  I eat omelettes a lot - loads of veg and 2 eggs, and fish, liver - no potatoes, no chips, But I do like my toast at bedtime.

Meeting up was great, should be more regular all over the place and the added bonus was the food and hospitality at Gaurdbridge and of course the Sun all was just great, only downside is this hayfever stuff, my eyes were streaming on the way home and all I wanted to do was eat sweets and sleep. I bought some sweets so now have to be extra diety thingy as I ate chips and bread, both I don't usualy have anymore but a special treat!!! Thanks all those who met up!! faces to names is great!!!!

A nice warm day too!! A suggestion could also be a pic nic!! that is in the warmer weather or use someones house or garden and all bring bits to swap to eat or drink, sort of show and tell!!! Trouble is even with a pic nic you need some form of shelter!! :gloomy: :notwell: :ladybug:
