Title: Which wildlife camera? - need to spy on my hens
Post by: farmers wife on October 26, 2015, 09:29:47 am
Either a Spypoint or Bushall style.  These look great however to have them 'live' you are looking at £500!!!   The Bushall comes in under £200.

Following a few incidents over the last 4 weeks if I cant pinpoint the reason for the killing of my hens the option is either put it near the hen house or pop in inside the caravan to view if anything is getting in.  Under £200 is acceptable for peace of mind sadly though it wont be watchable until the next day with sd card.

Just wondered what people thought and any recommendations?

Our local Aldi had their own version in a couple of weeks ago for £60.  Might be worth a check just to see. I doubt the images will get you published in National Geographic, but they should tell you what's eating the hens.

Another thought - do you know any extreme sports enthusiasts who own a Gopro camera?  They have a timelapse mode that could be used if you can provide a bit of background light.

The Sunluxy on here gets reasonable reviews and would almost certainly fit your purpose:
