The above link is for a video clip taken today , as I got to the land , to feed the horses . It shows a very laid back cock pheasant wandering around the end of the track by the horses.
He was there the other day as well , much closer , but I didn't have the camera with me then .
cheers

Beautiful video Russ.
-
yes .. it isn't everyday that a pheasant more or less walks past you !!
The camera is an old Mustek that does video clips , so the quality is quite poor really . But you can at least see the pheasant about halfway through the clip ...lol.
cheers

The only pheasant i saw today was under our car in seconds :-[
it just launched off the bank under the wheels, still, I'm sure it will taste OK as it is hanging in the shed ;)

here are a couple more clips of 'Fez' the pheasant .
(http://i873.photobucket.com/albums/ab298/rustyme572/Fez%20the%20pheasant/th_IMAG0006.jpg) (http://s873.photobucket.com/albums/ab298/rustyme572/Fez%20the%20pheasant/?action=view¤t=IMAG0006.flv)
sorry about the very bright start , but the sun was very strong today . Also I couldn't see the little screen at all , so had no idea if I was actually getting any video of Fez . He was waiting by the haylage again , his normal spot now , everyday he is there , waiting for his lunch ....He is very calm and confident around me , so much so I have to watch where I am stepping just in case !!

-
they play for me when I click on the little window George.....I don't know what else to do mate ?.... the video's are very bright to start with , but normalise after a second or so ....
cheers
Russ
PS: did you click on the window George ..?
-
Ah Russ, you're a big softy really ;)
Great footage - how long before he adopts you and starts coming home with you I wonder (no, not in the game bag ;))
-
lol... yes ... the secret is out ... ;D ... Mr Softy ...that's me...
Fez is funny little thing ....comes walking towards me when I call him ...although I know that someone will no doubt nab him for the pot ...that someone won't be me .
I used to breed pheasants for shoots, but I can't shoot them myself . I hate guns and what they do, and that was the reason I stopped breeding them , even though I made a lot of money out of it .
I just hope Fez is one of the very few that gets a year or so of freedom !!!
cheers

Smashing Russ 2 clicks makes it play hope he stays and tells some girl friends to come theres a silly human that brings breakfast and hands it to you and they nest on your property. That would be nice,They do wander off though when they get bigger do the chicks but it will be nice to see them grow up wont it.See if you can find them in the undergrowth.I've followed them and partridge for ages They are expert at keeping still and camouflage

i was down near Abercorn (between south queensferry and Bo'Ness) the other night and it was Pheasant central
hundreds of them
and no fear of me when i stopped the car and got out to go have a closer look (i'll go back with my camera and get a vid!)
it was fantastic and some of them were really beautiful specimens too. took all my restraint not to pan one over the head with a shovel and make a casserole of it!!!

I went to Limber one day last week please allow me a little poetic licence sellick Out of the wood at Double Gates walked a BLACK cock pheasant I have never seen a all black one before,he just sauntered out and across the road.I had to brake for fear of running him down He had his best bird pullin suit on and a 18" tail to go with it.He did look grand. :D :farmer:
-
sellickboy don't you dare!!!
-
I don't know if a pan on the head with a shovel would make pheasant a le bone splinters though sellick A good whack in the neck with your walking cane would be better .Thats what they are for Sheila eating Roast, boilt, fricasseed, fryed or pied and pate it makes little difference so long as you take its jacket off first :farmer:
