I have had a few cochins, with mixed success. I have a brilliant black cockerel, Homer, who is our favourite, and very friendly. However, i have struggled with cochin girls, as they seem to struggle in the wet, muddy conditions which prevail here for most of the year.they are magnificant birds, with what we call baggytrouser legs, and seem to float around the place. not brilliant at egg laying, but certainly jolly the place up a bit.
