Title: Chickens needed for Echt school
Post by: Duckduckgoose on September 23, 2015, 10:25:24 pm
My daughter goes to the nursery at Echt School and they are looking to restock their coop. I've helped them do some repairs and I'm donating a couple of hens. Just wondered if anyone else fancied doing the same. The children will get so much out of it  ;D
I can collect them from you
Thank you

Oh how I remember helping with those hens...........My daughter was the first hen expert who was consulted on a regular basis! to start with. The first lot of hens they got from a&k poultry, May be able to get some quality free range hens from Katy's eggs(have facebook page) torphins often have batches of pullets and some older ones in lay available cheaply or may donate a few. They also sell hen food cheaper than local suppliers as now have a feed bin so get hen food delivered in bulk and will fill a bag for you at cost.
Are they still having a go at incubating ?

That's a fab idea. We used to take chicks,  goat kids,  lambs n piglets to our school every yr until a new head teacher put a stop to it.
Let us know if they want a Scots grey Cockeral.
