Our regional NFU Scotland manager was in out office the other day with theses leaflets, thought here would be a good place to share them.

Vaccinated / innoculated hens are a no for us as we would then infect all our Pedigrees as happened to us once before. I hear of many cases where viruses flare up and the new birds die before they get out of quarantine as well.


We check for red mite every week and if any are found then daily in that coop until they are confirmed eradicated. We get red mite falling from the sky here -literally. They are brought in with the sparrows.
