Much merriment - we have our first egg and................... I saw her lay it!! She gave me (and the end) result a filthy look! The shell was very soft (grit is readily available) is this normal for the first? I'm very excited as you can tell. Perhaps that was what the croaking was all about this morning?? :) :) :chook:

I think the first couple of eggs can be dodgy, should sort itself out soon though. :chook:

Give it to Spencer!

:)ha ha Spencer was there and tried his best! Next one's got his name on it :)

Congratulations, first eggs are usually odd and found in funny places but they soon get the hang of it.

mmm... wouldn't have fancied eating that one much!! No more yet but here's hoping.. The 3 girls are more interested in sneaking into my fully netted, 1st time, veggie patch. They are rather clever creatures!

veg and chucks. dont ask. your going to need fruit cage security or they will eat it all. well they seem to enjoy veg justs as they are getting to the right size. festing chickens.

They don't like the veg I give them. This morning they turned their beaks up at lettuce - like I'm completeley mad but yesterday the plug plant was very delicious! The whole point to this 'small holding' lark was to offer relaxation and destressing from everyday life.... :-\
