Hi there everyone I am looking for any information about what I need to get my pet sheep to my new home in Brittany. Do I need the equilivant to a CPH number? I cannot speak French so Im struggling to understand any websites. I currently have them with a lady in Wales who is looking after them, now I have my new home I want to bring them over. Any information would be great please! :excited:

You will export your sheep from England to France so you will need to comply with the export regulations to do so, which I know nothing about.
However, I have some knowledge of pig exports and that involved blood tests, isolation and paperwork and I would assume something similar.
You need to look up "exporting sheep to France" and you should come up with the defra guidance for sheep in English.
It will involve costs in excess of the value of your sheep.

The rules and regs can be a bit confusing (just the language they use) but the essentials are
1) All stock to be MV accredited or equivalent
2) Rams scrapie genotyped ARR/ARR
3) Isolation for 3 weeks before movement
4) Export cert issued by Carlisle offices
5) transport in certified trailer/lorry
Good luck---it isn't cheap

sorry for butting in on this thread, but is it the French authorities which request that procedure, or is it the English authorities?

As Wales is not part of England and their Agriculture matters have been devolved to the Welsh Assembly, I'm not totally sure who is responsible for live exports from Wales.
