Title: Sexing Ducklings?
Post by: whitby_sam on March 22, 2010, 05:56:55 pm
We have 5 Khaki Campbell ducklings who are happy little souls. I'm hoping to have all girls but am not sure of how to tell early on (they're only a few days). Someone said you could tell by their tail feathers? Any thoughts?

You will only know by tail feathers when they are much older. If male they should get a curl at the tip of the tail feathers but you still have a wee while to wait before that will happen.

I have 9 and I couldn't tell until the males heads started to get darker, even then I got it wrong thought that there were 5 boys and 4 girls but it's actually the other way round.
