Hello
My husband and I have just moved to a 2acre holding near Colne/Skipton. The land is overgrown at the moment, but we've got big plans (who doesn't!). We've started with chickens but hope to keep pigs and ducks next year too, as well as creating a decent kitchen garden. Looking forward to some advice, and perhaps even to meet up with others in a similar situation. Does anyone know of a meetup group for smallholders/pig keepers/self sufficiency nearby?!
Excited and a little overwhelmed!

Hello from sunny Carnoustie.
There's a list of known smallholder associations here:

Not sure if North Penines is any good to you, my geography is pretty awful. (If anyone knows of any we're missing please let me know and we'll get them added.)

Hello from your neck of the woods - soon to move near Cowling. Check out a group run by Myerscough college which Stanley house vets sometimes give talks (sorry this is a bit vague!!) - We've been to a couple of talks 2 years ago which were informative.

Thank you for saying hello ???? everyone, nice to meet you.
Thanks also for pointer to North Pennines group. I think it's a little too far, but will certainly check out your suggestion Old Shep. Good luck for your move to Cowling. I'll wave from the top of the hill; were quite close! Small world.
