Ok guys so I am selling my faverolles this month to someone who really wants them. How long would it be before I could buy in some new hens? I have seen a breeder who has some for sale, pol light Sussex. also would I need to absolutely fumegate everything?
-
Why would you need to wait/fumigate? Did you have problems with the faverolles?
-
No, no problems whatsoever. I just wondered if i should do it as a lot of people i know do it just to make sure. Does the ground need a rest though before the next lot? I'm going to scrub the house anyway though, as i always do it before i get any more chickens.
-
I would just clean out and give a good spray with red mite stuff leave for few days and introduce new stock, we have just switched to buff light sussex pol.
-
Poultry Shield if you like. Sort of depends on what issues exist and how much space you have. So, difficult to say.
-
The garden is quite exstensive, but a little poached, so might need a little rest. Am gonna reseed some of it wait till the grass grows then get them. Is that a good idea?
-
They'll peck new young grass straight out of the ground. Can you contain them in a relatively unused area for a while at first?
-
Yea I can I had a run built especially.
-
off topic but do you run a B&B by any chance
-
No I dont mine is a rented property, so I think the landlady would object.
-
only asked because we stayed at a B&B that had Water Buffalo when we were looking for a small holding :-)
-
whereabouts was that? I may know them
-
I rememember it being near a Honey Farm on the way to New Quay

These are the people. I know them very well, they're good friends of mine.
