Title: Hello from S. Wales
Post by: uksfdawn on September 08, 2015, 08:52:28 pm
We moved to our smallholding just over a year ago in Carmarthenshire, what a year it has been we are still some way off getting it all done but we are getting there, my husband still has to work during the week in Bedfordshire and 20 months and counting he will be here full time.
We have Alpacas, 1 lamb who is going in the freezer soon, chickens, ducks turkeys and Bees, I have planted up a small orchard, have a poly tunnel up and running, raised beds and a soft fruit garden, when we moved here it was just nothing but 5 acres of grazing land we are in the process of buying another 15 acres so we can have some sheep, we did raise 2 pigs for the freezer last year and next year will raise some more. Next week I have two goats arriving its hard work but I love it and wouldnt swap it for anything.

Hello and welcome from Devon. You sound as if you've made a really good start and are enjoying it, despite being a "weekend wife".

Hello and welcome from Carmarthenshire too. We have been here 3.5 years. We don't have a lot of land but it keeps us busy.

Its been such a poor year, weather wise here that our honey is virtually non existent. We have friends in Salem who have had a good crop though.
