Hi all
im looking for some info regarding getting a few throws made from our Jacob Sheep Fleeces
we are register with The Jacob Sheep Society but have been unable to find the info regarding who can do this
it does mention that we can send our wool to someone and they will make it in to items for us to sell
just hoping someone sees this and can help

You do end up with very expensive items. Possibly just processing as far as spun wool may give a better return.

You could make something like this yourself on a peg loom. I make them from my Ryeland wool.

The Natural Fibre Co will spin your fleeces into various gauges of yarn, depending on the breed. You need 20-25kgs of fleece for a run. They will then forward them to a weaver who will make wonderful blankets and throws. The profit from selling the blankets won't make you rich, although it's worth doing (great Christmas presents too), but offered for sale with other Jacob products such as yarn, tanned skins, horn buttons etc you will have an interesting range on offer. Check out some of the Jacob shows and get togethers where there are craft stalls for ideas. Also look at the US sites, where they are very imaginative with their products (and go for slightly different breed standards)
With Jacob wool, because you get three colours - white, chocolate and grey (the two mixed) then you need the 20-25 kgs of each colour, unless you just want grey yarn.

If you need somewhere that processes smaller quantities, Griffiths Mill (http://www.griffithsfarming.com/mill.html) will take from one fleece up! I've no idea whether they have links with folks who would then craft you some woven or knitted products, but you could ask.
