does anyone let their chucks just run on dry ground all the time
e.g.
where the grass has been eaten and ground scratched or does everyone make the effort
to reseed when ground needs to?
i was thinking of covering the ground over with gravel and chippings.
any replys welcome ;) :chook:

I do have plans to reseed part of the lawn in wetter weather. It's all concrete just now. With too much rain it is mud - a difficult balance! And I still have not found suitable and affordable mobile fencing to keep the birds off the new seeds :&> :&> :chook: :chook:

My ducks and chickens were in the same run until a couple of weeks ago - it stank, was always muddy even though I had put in some hardcore with sharp sand on top. Then when the snow was deep and crisp etc etc I felt sorry for them so when I emptied their shed one time I left the straw on the snow. Since then I have just kept doing that and also put the ducks in a separate run. Much cleaner and easier to walk on tramped down straw, they have clean water and the ducks can do what they like with theirs.
