Does anyone have an embden gander for sale, or some geese, and does anyone want any Black Rock chicks - 7 weeks old and running around outside all day !
And does anyone know how easily, or not, geese make friends with each other? Some peope say you have to get a 'bonded ' pair or trio, to get goslings. I've a loney goose, laying eggs every day, as the gander was grabbed by a fox.
Any advice / help very welcome!

Where are you?

Rhona, if you are anywhere near south yorkshire I can help. 4 Embden ganders to 2 embden geese, so I have 2 spare.

I'm in the Black Isle, which is north of Inverness, a bit away from Yorkshire but thanks anyway. Today I rang A&k poultry in Inverurie - about 3 hrs away! - and he has embdens, so if there's no one any closer I may go through there.
Ive just read on the internet that goose eggs can be fertile up to 10 days after insemination, and my 'widowed' goose is still laying - so I may get goslings yet! Eggs are cold and she's not sitting - does anyone have experience of geese brooding? Ive got an incubator but it would be better if she could raise them herself. Anyone know a way to encourage sitting? She is suppose to be about 20 months old.?
Thanks!
