Just had a look at the show schedule, Cameron.  Looks a very good show, with plenty of classes to enter.  I enjoy these sort of shows which are in our area, and often a fair drive away too.

I assume, like our shows down here, the recession has hit people, and I have noticed that entries are down in numbers, and also the weather does not help when it rains.  One of our big agricultural shows has been hit for two years by really wet weather, and made a loss.  Such a shame.  I do the horse shows and sometimes the carriage  driving. Put the horses away in the trailer and then go off round the rest of the show to see the goats and poultry etc.  I really enjoy it - a good day out!!

Lets hope the shows are blessed with plenty of sunshine this summer!

Lets hope so- some of them were hit hard last year. Fife struggles a bit now for goat entries. We used to go, but we live further away now and I know one local who used to show there who only has 3 goats left now who are all being retired from showing/breeding now. They are a great day, and if you have entered, quite a cheap day's entertainment for you and your family. Certainly up here, there are far fewer people who keep goats and only show at their local one day shows. Most people who show, go to a lot of shows.

A coloured Ryeland ram lamb. Rosedean Li'l Bud to give him his Sunday name. There are very few classes for Ryelands and even fewer for coloured - like none at the Highland Show. But sometimes there is a class for "Any other breed", as at Fife.
