I have some at my local ccf, but am afraid that's only where I am. Couldn't you buy them off ebay?

Its a farming store which sell anything from crushes, animal dose to animal feed compost and cattle, sheep and pig plus hen handling housing equipment and woodchips too. Plus they sell horsyclothes and boots and anything you think of but live animals and vehicles. I bought my milking machines and crushes from there. Truly awesome place only in mid Wales am afraid.

I gave up trying to source them in Scotland. Try your local timber merchants but expect to pay upwards of £90 per dumpy bag for them. A local estate may also do them -Champfleurie for example, bit too far away for you though.

Hi - I have used a web supplier who delivers nationwide bark-uk.co.uk. They do hardwood chips specifically for chicken runs and have made a big difference to keeping the mud at bay in my run. They don't disintegrate or rot but do sink a bit over time. I got bags but you can also buy bulk depending on what you need.

MarthaR I will have a look at that thanks
Lord Flynn I will have a look at them as Linlithgow is only half an hour from Fife so depending on cost could take the trailer

Hard to believe it's not more common with so many people having chickens

Try the Arbtalk forum. The tree boys have to pay to dump this stuff so are always happy to supply if it's not too much hassle. May not be fully seasoned etc.
