hi just wondering if turkey chicks can be fed on normal chick crumbs or do they need a "special" crumb as the person who sold me the hatching eggs told me, as my first turkeys are due to hatch this week.
thanks for looking.

they do far better on a turkey crumb
-
thanks for reply, seller of eggs sells turkey crumbs thought he may be bias.
-
they need the higher protine. i have a couple that i did on chick crumb, they only grew to half the size they should have done!!
-
hi thanks for response, if turkeys hatch, any day now fingers crossed, i will go for the turkey crumbs.
-
Hi I have successfully reared them on chick crumb, for added protein you can mash a boiled egg to add to the crumb, they go mad for it!
-
thats a good idea

only 1 out of the 6 hatched, but 5 out of 6 ducklings hatched so i will be sticking to just chick crumbs this time, but thanks for info given.
-
I also gave my chicks a treat of mashed hard-boiled egg and they're really big, strong examples already. The extra protein must have benefits!

i have given lurky some egg in crumbs but living in brooder with ducklings so has this treat on my lap. will see how he/she does.
