Title: turkey chicks
Post by: lilac-unicorn on March 08, 2010, 09:33:45 am
hi just wondering if turkey chicks can be fed on normal chick crumbs or do they need a "special" crumb as the person who sold me the hatching eggs told me, as my first turkeys are due to hatch this week.
    thanks for looking.

Hi I have successfully reared them on chick crumb, for added protein you can mash a boiled egg to add to the crumb, they go mad for it!

only 1 out of the 6 hatched, but 5 out of 6 ducklings hatched so i will be sticking to just chick crumbs this time, but thanks for info given.

I also gave my chicks a treat of mashed hard-boiled egg and they're really big, strong examples already. The extra protein must have benefits!
