Title: cock a doodle chooky

One of my original hens (about 4) has decided as we do not have a cockerel that she will just take over. She has grown big red combs, stands up straight and crows away

This can happen if the ovary is damaged ArosP, so on that basis 'she' won't be laying now?

Agreed. It shows a hormonal problem and "she" wont lay again.
