Ive looked at those sites and nothing I fancy. Well thats not quite true I fancy that £1.4 mill one but hey dont we all?

Im looking for anywhere that I can get a few acres plus house for a reasonable sum. Im still not sure whether the place we have been trying to buy since last October is going through even now. We have jumped through that many hoops for various banks,

I love Scotland having lived there in the past although hubby is a bit of a wuss about snow. You will have to excuse him hes a Londoner and thinks the grass in the pavement cracks is the countryside. lol

In that case, South Scotland and over towards the East might be better - not so much rain and if inland protected from the North Sea winds.  Try ESPC, GSPC, and the rural ones - what I did was google 'houses for sale in central scotland' You get smaller private websites that way.
When John was alive we thought about moving to North Yorkshire and had local papers sent to us from there.  Any of the newspapers will do that - they each have their house sale days so no need to take them every day, and sometimes once a month is enough.

Jackie BSPC will give you Berwickshire and Northumberland, Lovely area (well I am a bit biased), but not too far from Edinburgh or Newcastle.
