So excited and a little nervous :)
We've just bought a Welsh Cardigan Corgi dog pup. He's six weeks old but we won't be getting him until early August. He's one of six; two bitches and four dogs. The lady who bred him sounds lovely. She's always had corgis as pets and decided to take one litter from her lovely bitch. Both parents are all health checked, pups are registered but we won't be either breeding or showing.
We need a name now. Dan likes Bryn - I do too but I can't get Uncle Bryn from "Gavin and Stacey" our my mind (especially since we live in Barry :eyelashes: )

Soooo jealous!!
I have a friend called Carwen (Car-Wyn) which is quite nice :) but if he was mine I think he'd be a Stan :)

So cute..

Well, she had three when shw contacted me and there's only one left now so it was now or never.
They are from Bangor in North Wales. They are Welsh speakers but her kids are goung to try to each Bryn English before he comes home ;D

Can I invite you for a coffee break on the way home with him? :innocent: :excited:  :dog:
-
I'm sure they'll need another one here :innocent: That last hour and a half is the most tiring! :excited:
-
Lovely news, very underrated dogs Corgis, now seen more as lapdogs than workers. Bryn is lovely, have you heard Bryn Terfel sing? :excited:
-
Thats right, we are all called Bryn and like singing and Daffodils in Wales

Don't get paranoid - we're all called 'Hey you Jimmy' up here, and sing the Proclaimer songs :roflanim: :roflanim: :roflanim: :roflanim:
-
I know I went there once, Haggis and Irn Bru did funny things to Taff so we came home.

And down 'yer of course, we'm all called Bert, drink cider and sing Wurzel songs! ;)

My pup has always been a picky eater - but scrunch up some haggis through it and she scoffs the lot -either cooked or uncooked - disappears like snaw offa dyke :innocent:
-
Yeah, probably Sally, then me, then Annie......that would be fine ;) In fact, why don't I just pick him up and keep him til you get back? That's probably easier ;D
:roflanim: :roflanim: :roflanim:
-
And if you have to pass through Devon............ ;)
-
Oh he's lovely, I would love a Cardi ;D

There's one wee boy left of the litter. It was a hard choice between the two - the one that's left has a half white face.

I can find good local training classes for you if you want them?

Puppy parties are good for socialisation, but you'll still need a wee bit of obedience training after that. Have asked a friend in Padanaram.

Thinking about doing agility when he's older :)
-
Until 18 months they're not allowed to jump, but any good agility group will have him pretty well up to doing a complete round at that age over poles (like equines), then the poles are gradually raised till they are at the 'small dog' height. Most dogs love agility!!! And you can get cheap agility equipment to practice at home or just use garden canes for weaving, a kids play tunnel, and more poles on the ground for jumps then add plant pots to raise them.

I wanted to do agility with Archie. He will be 4 in Sept. I bought some weaving poles and put them up in the field but he is afraid of them. :( I have tried taking him through on a lead with a treat in my hand but he really doesn't like them. Any tips?

A new photo of Bryn
-
He has a perfect heart on his forehead
-
He is just yummy.
My biggest regret with my puppies is that I didn't take enough pictures of them. They only stay small for 2 minutes! Take lots of photos and don't forget to post them on here for us to "aww" at!
