 - well, chicks at the moment actually, for sale!  They'll be 6 weeks old the weekend of 6th March, great layers, healthy, hardy & long lived !

Bib no axe to grind Lady Yarborough changed her wornout Pedigree Rhode Island Reds to Black Rocks I cannot taste any different in the eggs at all There are about 250 of them on just over an acre in the walled garden free range of course.

Hi Bethan - no problem - they're 6 weeks old now, but you've got yours already.  There are still some left.

Hi Wizard - the black rocks should lay more eggs than the pure breeds tho! And lay better quality (ie no wrinkly shells etc dont know about taste I think that may have more to do with feeding, access to cropped grasses etc)  eggs for longer than the brown hybrids

Me again - forgot to say Im in the Black Isle (north of Inverness, north-ish  Scotland for those who dont know), and who is lady yarborough??? Apart from being a wifey with a lot of hens .. ??   ;)
