Title: any fertile duck eggs-Lanarkshire/Edinburgh?
Post by: lord flynn on May 29, 2015, 12:42:13 pm
My lovely muscovy hen has gone broody but I've eaten all her eggs  ::) , other hen has ducklings atm so not in lay.  She's currently very indignantly sitting on an empty nest. Does anyone have any hatching duck eggs for sale near to Lanark/Biggar/Edinburgh for sale please? Preferably muscovy but any large breed (Saxony, Abacots, Harlequins) would also be fab. I had a bad hatch rate with postal muscovy eggs this year so am reluctant to eBay.

Not Muscovy, but Adele Stanley from Middleholm (can give you contact details or find her on facebook - middleholm poultry and waterfowl) might have Cayuga eggs? If not she'll know folk who do. It's Lesmahagow show tomorrow- pop down if you're not doing anything, you'll find her and loads of other folk in the poultry tent  ;)

thanks, have posted on the group. as fab as those cayugas are, if I get non-muscovy they'll be for sale so not sure if that would be acceptable.

may well pop down to the show-whats the entry and parking fee like?
