Hello :)
am hoping you can give me some advice! recently added some new hens to our flock and within a couple of days a bluebell (new girls) seemed very withdrawn and sleepy. she did however eat and drink. I went back to the fowl trust and asked for some advice to which they said it could be stress of moving.
yesterday (a week since buying) she developed a sticky eye and when I checked her beak I found some brown goo there too.
today one of the new white stars also has sticky eye...
my old flock never had any illnesses at all so this is really new to me and I am worried and trying to work out how to isolate the poorly two now :(
is this something that the vet needs to check or can a shop bought preperation like poultry spice help?

Sounds like a respiratory infection, that can affect hteir breathing and cause their eyes to weep/bubble, it can be contagious, so I would isolate them, clean with cool boiled water and get some antibiotic from the vet!

totally agree isolate and inject. watch your others too we had that last year and lost a few to it. there is also an antibiotic that goes into there water which works well.

I think its Tylan that goes in the water? smells horrible but works well and is probably a cheaper option, I would isolate the ones you know are infected but treat the whole flock just in case.
