Title: Pot Belly Pigs
Post by: pigsatlesrues on May 21, 2008, 12:07:40 pm
Having a bit of a mare today!

3months,3weeks, 3days ago, next doors hydiously ugly old Pot belly boar broke out a caused us absolute chaos.  He crashed fences, caused our boars to break out to get to him, it was hell on earth for about an hour.  In that hour he got to three of our Potbelly crosses, two of which he got pregnant.  Today, 14, yes 14 little ones have been born, and she was huge.  I guessed around 12, but she beat that. Her sister who isn't as big I am guessing will produce between 10 and 12 over the next 24 hours.

So 'Potbelly City' is here in Normandy and I am having a break down.  What will I do with 24 plus potbellies?

So all of you residing in France, place your orders now - don't get caught in the rush!! Excellent meat and with patience can be lovely pets.

Think of me catching them for castration in a few days time.  They are like little mice, faster!!

If there is a god, bless me at this time, and 'BLESS HIM!!' over the road!

Oh Kate you have my sympathies.  Now is the time to start a whole new trend in the local restaurants and bars.  Smoked pot belly, roast pot belly, pot belly en croute, pot belly barbeque, ad infinitum.

I guess it will be pot belly instead of turkey this xmas!

Number 2 has given birth - another 8!

One sow still to give birth - help!

I love my French neighbours, they are such good friends, but the other night they acutally came over with a chilled bottle of white to toast their boy.

I am here with potentially 30 potbellies and they are toasting his virility!

OMG - well there is nothing for it - another bottle of wine!! For me that is!

Kate do you have a local newspaper you could advertise them in?  Also all the local supermarkets and feed stores.

yes will do all the advertising suggested  when they are old enough.  They are all so healthy, no loses in other words.  That sounds awful I know, but they are as healthy as hell!

Four sold so far - 18 to go!
