Title: lawson trees

i hope ive spelt it right,
are these trees ok for goats to nibble at esp the lower leaves.
as allways replys are app ;) :goat:

What is a lawson tree?  Don't think we have  those here?

I've never heard of lawson trees. Are they evergreen? Generally, evergreens are bad, and deciduous are ok. But thats only a generalised rule of thumb.

they look like a douglas fir, they are an evergreen :(

I  would not let my goats eat any evergreen

No I wouldn't either- we have cut down a couple of leylandii because they were within reach of the goats field. Not that I like them either!

the tree is in the corner of their paddock, so the only thing i can do i guess
is to cut of all reachable branches.
i cant lift it out of there!! ;)

as i was saying the tree is in the corner, im going to cut of all branches that the girls can reach,
is the bark on the tree bad is well, as they have had a good go of it. ;)

I would try and cut down as much of it as possible. Remember evergreen trees can produce sap as well, and it can be poisonious.
