Title: quick question about electric tape for fence.....
Post by: greengumbo on May 09, 2015, 07:51:49 pm
Stupid question but I have a huge drum of tape and dont want to deploy the whole lot. Do I need to cut what I want to deploy or can I hang the drum and turn on the energiser ?

Setting up tonight so any quick reply is brilliant !

both - as long as the tape on the drum doesn't touch anything it is fine to leave it on the drum !

Are the pigs already trained to an electric fence? If not, you'd be best to set up an area with something solid behind the tape (pallets /stock fence) so that their first shock sends them backwards and not forward through the fence (defeating the whole exercise  ;)) a training pen, if you like.
Good luck

Well they shot forward not backward and got a few hundred yards down the road !

Set up a fence around them now and they have been zapped 4 or 5 times and are going backwards now.
