I finally got around to sorting some 'puter files out and a photobucket a/c so I thought I;d post some pics of my small farm. Some pics are over a year old including my aged mum but they give a feel for the place.
Most recent: view from far field hill.. all four filed are mine. The right hand far field includes woodland above..

This view to the left includes the third filed in the distance and is towards the house side of the holding:

View from the house across the valley with my veggie patches.

Towards the right from the house across the valley..2 of the 3 ponds visible:

Left from the house.. chcken run and some lawns (and mum)

My hobby shed and greenhouses:

I put this pics in just because.. some nights in autumn with a red sunset the hill catches fire:

One of my woodland walks. This is above middle field. Dally and Collie are mine. Rotty was on loan/test but turned out to be an escape artist one could spend all day looking for. This tiem of year it's a bluebell fest to the right of that path.. should take some pics of that really...

 Can you tell me where you buy the striped grass seed for the grass that you have growing in the fields .
Is it the same place as where you get the Sky Hooks and tartan paint ? :roflanim:

I thought I'd throw in a few more pics.. just the lawns, the current veggie patch, ponds and how you can grow lemons and grapefruit in wales....
I've added some pics of my espaliers and fan-trained stone fruit ..in all it runs along about 180yds of fence line. There's also a goodly run of young currant bushes and some dwarf cherries.

20 years ago I would have hated you - very very jealous. >:( >:( >:(
Now I'm 71 all I can think of is the amount of work you do to keep it looking like that. :innocent: You should feel justifiably proud! :bouquet: :bouquet:

I'm so jealous and so are my two Dalmatians...

You're only 6 yrs older than me. I am lazy ..so only put in a few hours a day..an hour or two mowing/strimming on days when it doesn't rain. The veggie patch needs weeding ..most of the bulk is wih the rotorvator, though and I do employ a bit of help with things like the winter tidy-up (cutting around the ponds and pruning and carting/burning it after) and mowing the hill fields where my tractor driving courage fails. Since the only stock is a few pet sheep and chickens there's not that much to look after.

If you weren't so far south I'd suggest you brought your dally's round for a play date... my wife would hate that - she can't get over the first 18mths of dally madness we had with this one and his predecessor.
-
pgevet, I wonder if you would like to marry me? ;D

I'm game! Only trouble is wife would take half of it with her....

Could I be your surrogate granny? :innocent: :roflanim:

Could I be your surrogate granny? :innocent: :roflanim:
You could live in the granny flat fixerupper I own across the stream. Clear the roof out of the kitchen and the back wall out of the front room...2 acres of loose stone and bramble to weed out..
-
What a lovely idea, it's so nice to see the pics.
Maybe we could all put up pics of out little idyls?
P.S I have serious farm envy!
-
Off to give the pet sheep their morning treats and head rubs

Twiglet.. the only one born on the farm
(http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t361/Peter_Knapp/CAM00301_zpsvqllnumz.jpg)
Now we're in Fiona field with Polar and Rambo - twiggies mum and dad.. both turned up at different times as unclaimed strays. Rambo is a sweetie (has been castrated now) but Polar is a skittish biatch who butted her lamb away and ignored her.
Rambo is just a big teddy-bear..
This is Red .. who appears to self-shear
(http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t361/Peter_Knapp/CAM00309_zpshco89uhd.jpg)
Lastly fat boy Blue - second in .. always eating..
The next two pics sadly came out out of focus.. considering the PITA scramble down to the Brogan to take them..
It makes the stream look bigger than it really is. It doesn't deserve a name nut it's on the OS maps

Beautiful place and beautiful sheep. What breed are they?

Good question! Locals tell me Polar is a mule.. some sort of blue-faced leicester cross buelah? Rambo no idea.. twiglet of course crossed between them and then Red and Blue are probably Welsh although their coats are a bit different. They were a cheap undocumented pet lamb buy/rescue. OH views this place as a sanctuary. We got Blue and Red as pets to rear and have tame to try and tame the two originals - which worked. Twiglet as Polar's reject was reared for the first two weeks in the utility room..thoroughly spoilt and will trade kisses....Her fleece is interesting. Like her mother it's very soft and tight tiny ringlets.
-
yep, I could definitely use an envy emoticon ;D .
your sheep are very clean - Red looks very, well, white; some of mine look like they've been mud wrestling - which is particularly odd as they don't have access to mud at the moment ??? .
-
Red is the dainty refined one. If you look closely Polar was dragging a lump of bramble. They're all a bit grubby around the back ends.. I'm waiting for a friendly farmer to come shear them this week - they like to take the piddle out of my massive flock 'down't pub' compared to their several hundred... but kind enough to shear them for me foc when they have a spare minute.
-
What a wonderful place you have - and love those sheep

If you get up really early in the morning ( a few days ago and only a phone cam)
