Hi,
Can anyone tell me roughly how much a cattle grid costs to supply and fit.
Thanks

There was one going free on Skye Free Ads recently!
A self-supporting one (i.e. You dig a hole and chuck it in, no need to build a concrete base) is £1800, I never got a price for a more conventional one.

Cheers, sorry I missed it!

found these 2nd hand - rather depends on how long you can wait for one to come available near you though:-

I think you can get CCAGS grants for cattle grids (assuming you are a crofter).

Just bear in mind that to be sheep-proof it needs to have round bars, absolutely no space at the edges and be wide enough to convince even the most determined animal that it cannot be jumped, even with a long run-up. I have personal experience of a few cattle grids that fail the test, not to mention the angular wooden grids at railway level crossings which are merely there for decoration, as far as I can see.
