Title: 2 week old piggles
Post by: tattycat on April 13, 2015, 09:40:40 pm
Was wondering how much ration your giving your sows,  nd when you wean them. Think we left them too long last year.
She's  a Mangalitza.

Am relatively new to this too...more experienced people on here may have more detailed advice.
My sow worked up to a maximum of 3kg plus 0.5kg per piglet at 2-3 weeks after farrowing (following advice on here). So she was on 6kg in total as she had 6 piglets. Wean at around 8 weeks if a regular sized litter and then drop sow feed back to 'normal'. I was also feeding piglets creep feed from about 10-14 days and they progressed to about 1kg each of grower feed each per day by the time they were 8 weeks old.
Hope that helps
