today when i was cleaning out the potting shed
i found a bag with some old spuds that have sprouted.
the spuds are quite old some are bruised and what have you,
can we give these to our pigs to eat.
will app any replys ;) :pig:

Potatoes are poisonous to pigs and should be boiled first, although its ok to feed them small amounts uncooked. Personally I always boil them first! hope this helps.

nice one dixie, i thought so, just relieved that we decided to hold back till we got
some answers.
with the spuds been so old could we still boil them to feed to the pigs?? ;) :pig:

You could plant them and grow more if they've sprouted ;D

Morning all.langdon have you read my post The countrymans way of killing pigs in the 1940's ? You may enjoy it if you haven't seen it Its in foods and crafts about halfway down :farmer:

Go with doganjo. Plant them for next season. I would cook them too.

reckon the point is that boiled manky old tatties taste great and you should boil them and the pigs will love them :) :) :)

It will make your kitchen smell WONDERFUL!, but the piggies will LOVE it.
