Ayr & District Be~keepers Beekeeping for Beginners
Spring 2010
6 week course of lectures for beginners
• Overview of beekeeping equipment and types of bees
• Lifecycle of the honeybee, bumblebee and wasp
• The Beekeeping Year: from swarming to honey harvest
• Extraction, straining, jarring, labelling of honey
• Products of the hive and their medicinal uses, stings, allergies and bee diseases
Informative and Practical sessions culminating in visits to our Association Apiary where full protective clothing and equipment is available.
Classroom sessions are on Wednesday Evenings at 7.30pm 24th February - 31st March 2010 . , Doonfoot Primary School Alloway, Ayr
Course Fee £25
Includes membership of the Ayr & District Beekeepers' Association for one year.

Do you have any beekeeping contacts in the Angus area? I keep looking at the beekeeping assoc website but I can't find any local contacts.

Should have posted earlier. Anyhow, this course was absolutely brilliant. There'll likely be one next year so worth enrolling.
