We have finally started lambing! :excited:
My prolapsed ewe had 2 ram lambs. Both up on their feet and eating. Very glad she has lambed as she has had a rough time with the prolapse and started prolapsing past the spoon and required stitching on weds. Not going to breed from her again but she's a cracking mum so hopefully they will all do well.

Bit gutted as we have lost the second little one of the twins. He got a bit flat and cold yesterday evening and had to bring him in to warm him up after tubing him.
Despite being warm and with a full belly he just never seemed to get going again. Didn't seem to absorb any of his feed and passed away this afternoon. :gloomy:
His brother seems to be full of beans so fingers crossed for him. Mum seems to be taking good care of him.

When you say he got flat, might the ewe have laid on him? Often the cause of otherwise unexplained deaths.

I use the term flat meaning depressed, not oneself. Perhaps she chose one, I took them both of our prolapse ewe, she was so wobbly after the vets, I was scared stiff shed collapse on them and not be able to get up quick enough, they both bonkers bottle lambs now, rip lambie xxx

It's always sad to loose one. At least you did everything you could.

Sorry, vague choice of language. Like Hellybee I meant flat as in weak and lethargic rather than physically flat in shape. Sad to lose one but don't think I could have done anything else for the little mite.
