Can anyone recommend any skin tight disposal arm length inspection gloves for lambing? The ones you get from the agri stores are ridiculously large and impossible to use if you have small hands.
I'm thinking there must be some made for medical purposes that are available somewhere?

Daft as it may sound have you thought of using narrow long soft polythene bags over your arms , you should be able to disinfect them before immediate use as well .
Cling film and an elastic band retainer ( no knowing laughter please girls & boys ) might also sufice for a few occasions if your desperate.

I just use the smaller latex gloves- would you be able to put these on over the longarm type, to give you your fingers back?
-
Thats the best suggestion really Sally, all the long arm ones are one size fits no one. You get used to using them but it takes time

Nublu arm length gloves are a bit slimmer. pm me if you'd like a few posted

The orange ones are designed to fit someone whose hand would be far too large to go inside a ewe in any case. I only use them to pull out a dead lamb.

My vet came out to assist a lambing last year ,put the long orange glove on and then a latex over her hand, worked well. If I assist I just scrub my hand before and after !! No probs but cleanliness a must ????

I use a well scrubbed hand and anti-bacterial gel, or neat vodka.
-
Is there not a risk of the latex glove coming off? - rolling back from the wrist i mean?
-
Now then Devon girl, I take it you drink the vodka if it's a particularly difficult delivery ??? Sounds like a must have for the lambing box :roflanim: :roflanim: :relief:

You drink the Vodka if its a perfect delivery. You go back for the Gin too if its not.

The orange gloves are pretty universal and yes, they are big, but if you are working inside a ewe to sort out a muddle, the pressure of space means that the gloves don't flap around. You do get used to them, although with luck you should hardly ever need one.
