We have been approached by a local business wanting to use our land for outdoor activities such as archery etc. They are fully insured, will provide all equipment and run the event from beginning to end. They will use approx 5 acres of our land over the course of a day. If successful this may become a regular event on the land on an ad hoc basis. Any suggestions on what we should be looking to charge for the use of the land for the day? Other than our own public liability, what else should we be on the look out for?

Depending on where you are in the country, and how close to neighbours!! You might just have the parish council or city council turn up on your doorstep!! Check out planning requirements for holding an event. You definitely need to look into it if they are doing clay shooting.
Ground conditions. You cant guarantee its going to be dry and all those people will be parking on your ground!!
Good luck! Not something we would dare try on our farm, we have enough trouble with our parish council as it is!!

a farmer I used to rent grazing off used to rent out a 10 acre field for riding club events, 2 events for £500pa although he cut the grass prior but could also cancel the event if ground conditions were poor. Might give you a starting point although this was a few years ago now..
