We've been grazing sheep at a local property belonging to a charity that I won't name. The area is about an acre, I guess but some of it is boggy and there's some tree cover as well. It came about as an agreement between the manager and ourselves - it saved him cutting he grass and visitors liked the sheep and it suited us. No money changed hands.
We used to put ewes and lambs up for a couple of weeks and then the ewes at weaning for a few weeks, depending on teh grass.
The manager is now retiring and I thought I'd better check that we were OK to continue. Contacted the Estates Manager who asked what we thought the rent should be. I replied saying I had no experience of this, whereas he did, so would he suggest a rent.
Got and email this morning - £500. Still laughing.

Seems reasonable. I take it that's per month?

Having a rough idea where you are talking about Rosemary - the boy is aving a laugh!
He'll have to spend about a good amount of money on a decent mower for his acre now :excited:

its the sort of price we have to pay when we have horses *shrugs*, but then, I suppose we deserve it ::)

Would I be right in thinking you declined, Rosemary?
