Title: Future Learn
Post by: Lesley Silvester on February 24, 2015, 05:00:26 pm
I signed up to a course in forensics with Future Learn after being inspired by Fleecewife. Several courses later and, after a bit of a break to give my brain a rest, I have just signed up for two more courses - basic Dutch (I have cousins in Holland) and World War 1: A History in 100 Stories. Anyone fancy joining me? All free.

I am signing up for the Dutch too. My dad was Dutch and I have lots of relatives there but fortunately they all speak English

Mine do as well but I would love to surprise them. It might also help when I read comments on Facebook that other people have put on their posts. I used to hate it when we were all children and they would chat away in Dutch and then I would hear my name followed by laughter. I'm sure they did it to wind me up.

It worked.

Dutch isn't for me, nor any of the other up and coming courses on futurelearn.  I'm currently still doing my Moons of the solar system, and Our Hungry Planet, plus flicking through Richard 111 to remind myself before the update of his reburial comes at the end of March.  That's keeping me very quiet - in fact I've fallen a bit behind.
Then it's time for the Coursera course on chicken behaviour which starts on April 3.

I'm so loving doing these courses and learning new stuff every day.  I'm also glad I inspired you, Lesley, to join in, and everyone else who's taking any of the courses.  I just had a check and so far I've done 12 courses on FutureLearn, plus three on Open2Study, all in the past year.   :relief: Phew - my head's bursting  :roflanim:

Oh goody, more addicts  8)

If the course you fancy has already started you can still join, and just catch up, or keep going after the finish date.  The info stays there for, well, I don't know really, maybe indefinitely.

The chicken course was notified here on TAS and I think there are several of us doing that, so perhaps we can all discuss it as we go  :chook: :chook: :chook:
