We have a jacob ewe that is being kept with our ewes. I'm worried that there is a possibility that she was bred by our suffolk ram. Should I be worried that the lamb will be to big if she is pregnant?

I had a couple of Jacob ewes and bred them to a lleyn and a texel and don't remember any problems to be honest. Compared to the other sheep that I had, I found that they were not greedy which may have helped because they seemed to keep a steady weight even when there was plenty of grass or cake. Don't know what yours are like or if you have had them long enough to notice. Good luck with the lambing :knit:

We have a Jacobs ewe that has breed with our Dorset Ram three times. each time producing twins with no problems at all.

Thank you! She Belongs to someone else. All of my ewes are suffolk/hamp. I will not worry to much.

my neighbor put my suffolk ram to his Jacobs , and had absolutely no problem lambing at all

I used to use a Suffolk on my Jacobs and they had no issues lambing infact they were better lambing than the pure suffolks.

We are managing feed and she is not too fat. I've been very careful about feed. Sorry about the "pad ruled" my phone must have automatically corrected something, and was not very helpful in its correction. She is being kept with my flock temporarily.
