Title: Quick Method of Creosoting Henhouses
Post by: Marches Farmer on February 11, 2015, 08:49:55 pm
Usually use a paintbrush but this time I put the creosote in a 2 litre garden hand sprayer and set the spray to fine mist.  Careful not to breathe it in, of course, and did the inside of a 12 bird henhouse, including perches and nestboxes, in just over five minutes.

That sounds like a plan! Good thinking - will try it next time. Hate the painting. Will probably get it better into the cracks too.

That's a useful tip!

Mmmm, MF, what IS that new scent you're wearing?  ;D

Careful not to breathe it in, of course

That's very difficult to do though. Personally I'd be wearing a filter respirator as a minimum.

This was a Smiths Sectional Buildings house that has access on each side - I agree you'd have to be a bit more cautious for conventional henhouses
