i have just received a letter about early warning contingency plans along with a kit to take samples in the event of a suspected outbreak of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea. This has come from the Rural Centre at Ingliston.

Me too, ours just arrived.

Oh I haven't ??? But will keep an eye out.
Did it come from Animal health?

It came from QMS, which I thought was quite weird!

As I understand it the outbreak in the US may have started with dried porcine plasma products being fed to piglets. Surely little chance of that happening here, if everyone follows the rules?
-
Not received anything in Wales, though the risk looks to be minimal if the keeper is vigilant regarding bio security, sourcing feed and strict rodent control.
