I am selling my Jersey cow who will be 5 years old in May. I reared her from 3 weeks of age on a teated bucket so she is very tame. She calved mid October to a Galloway so I will keep the calf here when she is sold and she can then be put back to a bull once she is settled with her new owner. Alternatively the buyer is welcome to buy the calf (bullock) and she can be weaned later on, they would be £750 for the pair, he is a good chunky calf now. It's a sad decision for me to sell her, so I'd like her to go to someone who is soppy about the breed. My original intention was to have her as a house cow and use her milk, but the land and farm buildings i rent have no electricity and there is a possibility the owners may sell so it would not be sensible to invest in an electricity supply. I could use her as a suckler cow but that was not what I wanted. As a house cow she would be ideal. She has always had year round access to a bedded up barn when the weather is bad, and cow nuts and soaked beet when milking and during the winter. She passed her TB test last week. £650 no offers.
