Title: Free Standing Kitchens?
Post by: Baois Glas on January 17, 2015, 11:02:17 am
Does anyone have a freestanding kitchen?

What do you think of it?

No, but I'd like one - makes it easy to get to service pipes, limits the opportunities for mice, spiders and slugs to live under the kick board of fitted cupboards and looks much more in keeping with an old house (ours is 500 yrs) than fitted.

We are building a new but very old style croft house and we are currently looking around at freestanding kitchens. They are certainly in keeping with old houses but good ones are expensive.
Looking for companies that do them if any suggestions/recommendations

I know your nearest branch is a long way off, but I have had an IKEA free standing kitchen and find it excellent. It fitted well with my Victorian house but didn't look twee.  They are much cheaper than most but good and solid and the lower cost would offset the travelling to collect.

Which ikea one do you have? Just had a look on the website but there only seems to be a couple under the 'freestanding' heading

I got my freestanding kitchen from the free standing kitchen company in Essex. They delivered it free to arbroath, excellent service
