Title: Quick Question
Post by: Maddox on January 12, 2010, 06:49:11 pm
As you know Ive dispatched 3 chickens today, one has been plucked and gutted and in the oven as I type..lol the other 2 are plucked and hanging in the garage, now.. can I leave them until the morning to finish off (they are up high and Mr fox cant get em) or do I have to gutt them tonight?

Im not worried about Mr fox but didnt like the idea of mice which I know I have running over them or a rat (dont think we have one but you never know..lol), shall I cover up with a bin bag if I can leave them over night????

Many thanks

Maddox

They'll be OK but we have some cheap pillowcases that we hang them in just to protect them from, well, whatever

you can hang birds with guts in for a couple of weeks. some folks say it smells too bad when you gut them late but i didn't mind... :&>
