Title: Christmas fails
Post by: Fleecewife on December 24, 2014, 06:51:57 pm
OK I'll start.

When I made the Christmas cake a few weeks ago, I wasn't feeling great - you can tell  :roflanim:  Still, we have chisels, and it can always have a second coming as black bun or cloutie dumpling.

The weird thing is, Mr F says it's the best Christmas cake he's ever tasted  ???  :snowman:

:roflanim:   I think maybe half of the problem was that there's already so much booze in it, it couldn't rise.  I soaked all the fruit in masses of booze for 24 hours, then added loads more as I made the mix.  Maybe I should just swig from the bottle while I'm eating the cake, then I won't know what I'm eating - nor will I care  :hungry:  Now where's that rolling in the gutter sozzled icon...oh yes... :roflanim:

My Christmas fail was a few years ago. In my own defence, I had been up most of the night with a gastric bug. I cooked the turkey dinner and served it to OH, son and parents. I couldn't actually face eating it myself. As OH put down his knife and fork on his cleared plate, he said, "That was lovely, but it would have been better with some roast potatoes." They were still in the oven.  :roflanim:
