Title: Lame ewe
Post by: moprabbit on December 11, 2014, 09:19:29 pm
I read a post a little while ago about someone who had a ewe that was lame for no apparent reason. I have the same thing, but she's been on and off being slightly lame for several months now. I gave her 1 injection of  Metacam a while ago and she improved for a time, but now she's back to being slightly lame again. She doesn't lie down a lot, she doesn't kneel when eating, there's no swelling or heat in her joints. I  was going to give her a course of Metacam, 3 injections 3 days apart incase it is something that is inflamed in her shoulder maybe? I wondered if this is a sensible option? Thank you

Have you looked at her foot?

Hi JS- yes looked at her foot. Pressed and prodded it. Can't see anything and she doesn't flinch or anything when I do it. I sprayed it with blue spray for a while just to be on the safe side.  Thanks for your reply.

Hi ! Just read your post, are you sure it's her foot and not something higher up ?? Worth investigating if no luck with the foot.
