Soon we will have to say good bye to our lovely tiny loan shetland, Dusty, as his owner's grandaughter is now starting to ride. I have been building my boys up to this, as they will be very upset, and have found a super new pony, Smokey, for William. They have a combined age of 29 (William is 4) and between them have 3 eyes (WIlliam has 2!), and seem to be a perfect match. We are working on doing little bits off the lead, although William doesn't have the concentration to do it all the time. Angus (2 and a half) has moved up onto our bigger shetland, Hamish, and is doing really well considering he didn't want to ride anyone but Dusty last week.
No photos of Angus as he requires both my hands still, but here is a wee video of William (I think if you click on it it should go bigger), I am so proud of him, and we are so lucky to have been able to get this super old pony. Please excuse me gaspng for breath, we had just climbed a very steep hill to get to this point!

Aaaaww! Brought a little tear to me eye ::) I remember those early days teaching my daughter to ride. Happy days.
And how absolutely wonderful that you have given a super home to an old timer: I take my hat off to you. Smokey looks like a super little man. I do hope you and your children have years of happy times with him
