ime getting an indian game cockeral to x with something to make a good meat bird, will try ixworth, light sussex hens but does anyone currently do this and what hens do you use. are there varieties of indian game?

Hi I am in the process of getting a breeding programme going have bought 9 indian game hens and am going to cross them with a le bresse rooster wiil keep you updated on the progress I make

Yes, IIRC he crossed an Indian Game cock with different varieties of hen, then did a blind taste test. I seem to remember the Dorking cross being the winner.

Ya but since that he has crossed the indian game hen with the dorking cock with better results but the le bresse is apparently the best eating bird according to the french and also top chefs making 15 pound a kilo at market

Where are you? I have a very nice Indian Game cockerell, too nice for the freezer, free to a good home!
